CONTACT SPECTRUM: Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

  1. Why do you ask me for my insurance information at each visit?
To ensure that your insurance information is accurate and current. Please bring your insurance card to every visit.
  2. What is the cost of my visit?
If you are insured, the cost of the visit will be your co-pay (if you have one). If you are uninsured, the cost of your visit is determined by your income and family size. Family planning visits for teens are free of charge.
  3. Are you a “free clinic”?
Although we provide services regardless of a patient’s ability to pay, we are not a free clinic. Uninsured patients are offered a discount based on their family size and income.

  4. Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, we accept walk-ins. Please be advised that there may be a wait if you choose to walk-in and request services. Appointments are strongly encouraged whenever possible.

  5. Do you offer anonymous HIV testing?
While we do not offer anonymous HIV testing, we do offer confidential rapid HIV testing. Results from rapid HIV tests are available within 15 minutes after the test is performed.

  6. I like to see the same provider every time I visit the health center. Can I always see the same provider?
We encourage all patients to have a primary care provider (PCP). You can then schedule all of your appointments with this provider. When scheduling an appointment, please ask for your PCP by name. Having a PCP who knows you well promote “continuity” and leads to better health.
